Friday Feels #10

Hello HQ-ers!

Hope you’re all well.

Another mad busy week here at CS HQ with a to-do list as long as your arm, feeling slightly overwhelmed most days to straight out frazzled!

So since we last got together, in case you missed the last post, I’m going to be performing on a Triple-Bill at the Brighton Fringe Festival! So I’ve been working on a set that I’m now refining for stage.

© WTF 2021

It’s been well over a year due to COVID restrictions that I’ve performed live and yes I’m extremely nervous. However, I’m very much looking forward to this experience and a little anxiety is a good motivator sometimes.

I’m back at Uni too, so my head is buried in reading and assignments for the next 2 years.

I also launched the Podcast finally! You can listen here: Intro Episode

While this is going on, I’m still working on Online Learning HQ and it’s impending launch.

Join me for a Virtual Coffee Date on Sunday morning where I’ll go into more detail about this.

Prioritising is hard when there’s so much to say and do, isn’t it?

The kettle will be on, see you on Sunday morning!

Friday Feels #8

Hello HQ-ers,

Well last Friday, I told you all about how I was the victim of a crime a few years ago and through official referral went on two programmes to aid my recovery and mental well-being. And that while I found it brilliant, I found some flaws that didn’t sit right with me.

I’m still working creating my course loosely based on those 2 programmes so it will be LIVE soon!

  • Accessible to all
  • No official referral needed
  • Suitable for all situations not just that specific situation the original training I did pertained to.

My aims are to raise awareness of the impact on each of us within mis-aligned interpersonal relationships and to provide tools that encourage safer and more informed choices in our lives going forward.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Hello HQ-ers,

It’s been a crazy busy week here at CSHQ and I HAVE to share why with you!

I was the victim of a crime a few years ago and through official referral went on two programmes to aid my recovery and mental well-being.
I found it brilliant yet I found some flaws that didn’t sit right with me.

It kept niggling at me for years then over the last few months I had an epiphany:

I’m a qualified tutor!

So after the pandemic hit, and I’d graduated from University, the live comedy stopped and I started job-hunting. The job search proved to be fruitless, I thought right, you won’t employ me? Screw you! Your loss I’ll employ MYSELF!

I have been working all week creating content loosely based on those 2 programmes but:

  • Accessible to all
  • No official referral needed
  • Suitable for all situations not just that specific situation the original training I did pertained to.

Basically, I’m here creating course content on the principles of empathy and supporting others, while providing strategies of coping methods and mindset shifting to build confidence and assertion.
My aims are to raise awareness of the impact on each of us within mis-aligned interpersonal relationships and to provide tools that encourage safer and more informed choices in our lives going forward.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Friday Feels #4

This Website is 6 weeks old!

Without any financial input from CSHQ we are growing slowly yet reaching far. It takes awhile to start gaining analytical insights however everything is in motion behind the scenes to provide accurate performance reporting.

Once again, I can’t stress enough how helpful the WordPress courses are, even though they are no longer managed and up to date. Even if you’re a blogging vet, there’s bound to be a nugget of information there that will help you produce your best site and inspire you to create valuable content.

Mine are 99% all complete in just 3 weeks of dedicating time to delve into each topic and it’s daily lesson and I feel it’s made a difference to how I blog as opposed to previous sites I had.

It’s motivated me to keep going in a realistic time-frame and help me schedule time to work on this site, whether it’s back office stuff or writing.

In my consultancy world, I’ve been spending time drawing up a programme of information which I will soon be live for anyone who could use a resource on behaviour within interpersonal relationships.

As for comedy, last Sunday saw my return to stand-up albeit under lockdown conditions. Appearing on Awkward Question Time for the third time as its fun.

You can view it here in case you missed it. Be aware; we discuss adult themes and includes profanities.

Recorded Show

It’s the third time I’ve appeared on this show and I thoroughly enjoy it because you never know what’s going to happen next. It’s completely live with no way of knowing what may happen so whilst it’s not on a stage with a mic to a live audience it’s still in principle very much like a comedy night as you never know what the crowd will be like, if you’re heckled and so on.

In Lu’s world, we had a return to school for one day and now I’ll have my son home over Easter Break until April 12th, pending Government guidance. I’m in awe of my son! His resilience is admirable, how he’s adapted to life during a pandemic, how he’s continued his studies with homeschooling. He rarely asks me for help now he gets his head down and gets it done and I can see the sense of achievement when he appears to tell me he’s handed in anything due and the sense of pride when his work is marked with positive comments from his teachers.

Whilst on the subject of Education, I’m also getting ready to return to University to complete the first step toward a MSc so I’m excited, focused and ready to tackle these new challenges that I’ll face.

My BSc was anticlimactic. Four years of hard work and no Graduation Ceremony saddened me. Of course, I can graduate virtually or attend a ceremony in the future BUT I finished in Summer 2020. To have a ceremony in 2020 would be more appropriate than waiting til later in 2021 and beyond.

Hoping after two years of Postgraduate study, the World will return to a modicum of normalcy where I can don cap and gown in front of my son.

Until the next time…

Friday Feels #3

Hello HQ-ers,

Well what a week it’s been! Amongst everyday life, all but two WordPress BloggingU courses are complete.

They’ve been invaluable to refresh my (self-taught) skills and taught me some new things, I genuinely didn’t know. Unfortunately, even feedback links are dead so I can’t tell BloggingU how grateful I am for the content available on each Topic covered.

Some of the things I picked up are what enabled me to achieve a reach across the World which I never thought I’d hit so quickly as my old site which had money thrown at it didn’t perform as well in such a short time.

So now I’m looking to collaborate with other bloggers and readers. Please visit here for details.

As always, thank YOU for reading.

Friday Feels #2

Hiya HQ-ers,

This past week here on the Bloggersphere, I noticed the overlap between WordPress courses in the sense that fundamentals already covered some of the branding and growth topics, for example. So I was actually ahead of the schedule and able to review anything I was unsure of.

I’ve completed Learning the fundamentals which is a 14-day course and completed the 5-day Commenting Basics course so I’m continuing on with the others.

It has been a great exercise in refreshing and developing my WordPress skills. It has also helped me prioritise the way I want to post as in timing, topics and how I’ll deliver my posts going forwards.

Going to put Developing your eye I and II on the back burner til I finish the rest of the courses and then go back over each task to produce another series pertaining to these photography programmes BUT I’m going to put my spin on them so they fit in with the Consulting Writing and Comedy pages.

Sadly, I also noticed that a lot of the resources links all land on pages that no longer exist or have been listed as private. Also the comments sections have all been closed so you can’t connect easily with others nor find support. And I noticed that all the courses seem to have ceased being active, vibrant online communities since March 2015.

Such a shame that no one is updating BloggingU anymore. Please do let me know your thoughts on this below especially if you’re currently studying too.

Have a great weekend, see you next Friday

Friday Feels #1

Hiya HQ-ers,

As this site is just 13 days old, let’s kick off this series with a look back over its time on the Bloggersphere.

My Insights Map

Its been a productive fortnight here at CS HQ as well as surprising.

Firstly, I’m in awe of how far around the World my visitors are. My site has been viewed in countries I’ve not even visited (yet)!

Where my readers are.

I’ve never achieved this with any other WordPress site I’ve had in such a short timeframe!

Genuinely fascinated with the power of the Interwebs and truly humbled at the Reach that Beyond the CSHQ has achieved. So I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all for visiting the site and reading the blog.

Now; in terms of my WordPress proficiency, I’m completely self-taught. Only through actually using the platform and learning from other bloggers, reading their advice, tips and tricks, researching help topics, subscribing to other’s email lists and (gratefully) utilising their free/downloadable content, did I actually become au fait with WordPress and blogging.
